Diese wilde Porzellanerde haben wir in Ostdeutschland gefunden. Sie entwickelt hier einen wunderschönen Grauton mit zarten Übergängen ins Apricotfarbene mit schwarzen Einschlüssen. Die angeflogene Holzasche des Brandes bildet eine transparente, orangeartige Glasur. An einer Seite findet sich ein fellartiger Fleck aus ungeschmolzener Asche. / We found this wild kaolin in East Germany. Here, it develops a beautiful grey tone with delicate transitions into apricot and features black inclusions. The fly ash from the firing forms a transparent, orange-toned glaze. On one side, there is a fur-like patch of unmelted ash.

Iris

Für Iris verwendeten wir Shino sowie lokalen wilden Lehmton, der als Schlicker aufgetragen wurde. Bei sehr hohen Temperaturen schmilzt dieser besondere Ton schwarz aus und entwickelt blau-weiße Kaskaden, die sich mit dem Shino vermischten und im Inneren der Schale einen Augapfel erzeugten./ For Iris, we used Shino along with local wild clay applied as a slip. At very high temperatures, this particular clay melts into a deep black and develops blue-white cascades that mingled with the Shino, creating an eyeball effect inside the bowl.

Dieser wilde Ton hat eine wunderschöne Selbstwirksamkeit. Kleine Feldspateinschlüsse blühen weiß aus in den verschiedenen dunklen Schattierungen der Schale. Die am Rand entlang streichenden Flammen verfärbten diesen in ein zartes, gleißendes Englischrot./ This wild clay possesses a wonderful self-efficacy. Small feldspar inclusions bloom in white against the various dark shades of the bowl. The flames brushing along the rim discolored it into a delicate, glistening English Red.

Hier wechseln sich die verschiedenen Farben rund um das Gefäß ab. Im Inneren setzte sich sehr viel geschmolzene Flugasche ab, die eine kleine Eisfläche entstehen ließ./ Here, the various colors alternate around the vessel. Inside, a large amount of molten fly ash settled, creating the appearance of a small surface of ice.
